Youth In Lagos Gather In Mass At Governor Ambode’s Office To Seek Support

Youth in Lagos State emerge in a solidarity movement yesterday May 18, at the state house to congratulate and appreciate Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, on his one year in office and for the works he has done within the period.

The Ambode youth initiative which was established in 2015 during the gubernatorial election campaign saw a ten thousand man walk for Governor Ambode during the election, and the proud youth have also commemorate with His Excellency, the governor of Lagos State for the “Light up Lagos” project, the “Security transformation, Health care ambulance to each general hospital in the state and other amenities that has been put in place under his watch.

While speaking to Smart9ja.com, the Chairman publicity committee of the Ambode youth initiative, Comerade Daeni Olusesan told us that the youth are proud of the governor and have gathered to express their gratitude for not being disappointed.

“We are here to say thank you, we are here to appreciate the governor for upholding all the promises, equally; we are here to ask for more, we are here to tell him that we are proud of him, the first public appearance the governor made in 2015 was ten thousand man match, which was organized by this same association with the intent of showing the public that Ambode is worth the leader we yearn for.” Said Olusesan.

The publicity secretary added that the youth of Lagos state need more from the governor to make them a proud citizens of the state.

The Ambode youth initiative is a collation of different youth organizations in Lagos state, and where all duely represented during the visit.

The state coordinator of the AYI Ogungbo Temitope presented the Governor through his representatives with a letter of appreciation and a letter of support.

Receiving the youth during the courtesy visit was Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on information and public affairs Honorable Idowu Ajanoku and Special Assistant to the Governor on civic engagement Honorable Taiwo Ayedun

Honorable Idowu appreciated the youth and assured them that the Government of Akinwunmi Ambode will continue to reach out to the youth as it has always been the bedrock of this dispensation.

“You are been appreciated, he has spoken much about you because he is a man who identify with those who stood by him when nobody believed in him, and that is why all the program is used to enhance the youth development in the state because we believe that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow.” Idowu said

He continued “Ambode, haven retired at the age of 48, and is now taking Lagos to a new height, the youth is an important and integral part of this government, you can be rest assured that after this one year, many more of good developments will be seen across the state”,

The SA assured the youth that more great works will be accomplished by the governor, and since the youth have always been part of the government of Ambode, “Our offices are open unto you” he said, as he encourage the youth to come with any of the economic or state infrastructural challenges they may be facing.

Honorable Idowu also made reference to the federal government proposed “one meal a day” for school pupils, and affirmed that Lagos state will commence the project very soon, reassuring the youth, Idowu said “you will benefit from this government”.
