Nollywood actress Henrietta Kosoko, wife of veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, died of diabetes, the actress died on Monday morning, June 6, 2016.
Henrietta Kosoko who celebrated her 53rd birthday last week was until death, married to veteran actor and former president of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP), Prince Jide Kosoko.
Jide Kosoko’s third wife was said to have slumped at home and was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu took to Instagram to confirm the news. The actress shared a photo of the veteran actress with tearful smileys. “Aunty henrietta why why. God God,” she wrote.
A close family source told us that before her demise, she was battling diabetes, causing her sugar level to fluctuate downward.
She was involved in a car crash in January 2015. Henrietta Kosoko was reported to been traveling along Sagamu Abeokuta express way when the accident happened. She was traveling in her brown Toyota Sienna when her car veered off the road and hit a PHCN pole.
Kosoko was knocked unconscious and woke up at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro where she was hospitalized for bout 11 days. The recuperating wife of Jide Kosoko suffered several injuries on her face and swore never to travel alone again.
Henrietta Kosoko was extremely popular in the mid 90’s after starring in a series of successful Yoruba movies. Her most famous movie is perhaps ‘Omolade’ which was a blockbuster hit released in 1995. She also starred in a few English movies. She has been with Jide Kosoko since 1993.
