Veteran music producer and singer, Babatunde Okungbowa better known as OJB Jezreel is dead. The Nigerian sensational singer passed on today, June 14, 2016.
The music maestro had a kidney transplant in 2013, and the said transplant failed last week. His family had to keep him on N35,000 dialysis daily to overcome the relapse.
OJB, 49, passes on a month to his 50th birthday. His body has been deposited in a morgue at Isolo General Hospital.
OJB Jezreel suffered from a kidney ailment in 2013 and had a successful kidney transplant within the same year after several contributions from friends and artistes in the music industry.
Music producer and singer, K-Solo and Jazzman Olofin also took to Twitter to confirm the death of the singer. K-Solo tweeted, “#OJB PASSED ON. just left this sinful World…Trying to get the Family.”
He is survived by three wives, June, Korede, Mabel and eight children.
When the popular music producer talked about how he was down with kidney related disease last year, before he was consequently flown to India for a transplant, he said two things pre-occupied his mind. “the fear of the unknown and that of the mystery of death.”
