Hollywood actor and one time Governor of Califonia, Arnold Schwarzenegger has terminated his ties with American TV’s show “The New Celebrity Apprentice” after being mocked by the programme’s former host and now President of the United States; Donald Trump.
Mr Trump had scoffed at the reality show since its low ratings at a National Prayer Breakfast, asking the audience to “pray for Arnold”.
Mr Schwarzenegger in his clap back, recommended that they switch office: “Hey Donald, I have a great idea. Why don’t we switch jobs?
“You take over TV because you’re such an expert on ratings and I take over your job and people can finally sleep comfortably again.” Republican former California governor Mr Schwarzenegger, 69, said he would not be back on the show because of its “baggage”.
Arnold took over the presenting Job in 2014 after it had been hosted by Mr Trump, 70, for six years. Where in January the show had aboout 4.9 million viewers.
Also, reports states that President Trump has made plans to appoint Fiona Hill, a fierce critic of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and a miner’s daughter from County Durham, to be his top adviser on Russia.
Ms Hill, 51, who gained a PhD in history at America’s Harvard university and has a north-east accent, who has also written a book highlighting Mr Trump’s links to the KGB. Her appointment will be seen as a sign that President Trump maybe distancing himself from his association with Russia.
Also, it was revealed that Trump is considering separating parents and children crossing together illegally into the US.
Parents would be kept in custody while they contest deportation. Children would be held briefly till they can be taken in care.
President Trump said he wants to end “catch and release”, whereby illegal migrant families are freed while awaiting legal proceedings.
