The billionaire Kindnap kingpin Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, aka Evans, has changed his plea to two counts of conspiracy and kidnapping to “not guilty.”
Appearing before Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Ikeja Division of the Lagos State High Court on Thursday, Evans pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy to commit felony to wit kidnapping under Section 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws and also to kidnapping.
Both offences were said to have been committed on the 14th February, 2017.
Evans, who had earlier pleaded guilty to the two counts at his last court appearance on 30th of August, has however claimed not guilty with his accomplices Uche Amadi, Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi, Ogechi Uchechukwu and Victor Aduba. They were in August arraigned before the Ikeja High Court for a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping.
While Evans and 2 accomplices had pleaded guilty back in August, the remaining 3 had pleaded not guilty,
Without apology, Evans and the 2 who pleaded guilty have backtracked, changing their plea to not guilty.
