Smart9ja Crew storm the office of one of our Chef for another episode of our gourmet experience, ‘Foodie Planet Africa‘, and this time it was with Chef Tony who made an African Delicacy with new lesson to learn.

While at the prestigious Golfview hotel in Ikeja GRA, Lagos Nigeria, the Chef quickly set us up at the pavilion of the hotel and the Host Jacqueline Adaezeh rode on her best act of presenting.

Chef Tony who later revealed to us that he will be making the local “Eforiro and Semolina”, (a rich meal famous for events among the Yoruba’s) educated Jacqueline on why some of the items of preparation will remain in the local dialect and never to be fine tuned with an English name or pronunciation.

The Chef said that Panla fish or Eja Kika as it is widely known as an item for preparing the soup could never have a better name in the English word other that dried fish, neither will pomo or kanda better be referred to as Cow skin.

The Chef then took us to his kitchen where he took us through step by step process of making the delicious meal, see video bellow

At the end of the preparation, guess who showed up, Steven Nator an award winning TV host at Planet TV channel 328 on DSTV.

Steven Nator had come to live in the hotel when Jacqueline met him at the reception and asked that he join us at the table to have an experience of a lifetime, well Steven did attest that he did.
